Hubs was off work (he has every other Friday off) so we spent the day at Panera getting work finished. He had a paper to finish and I’m currently applying for jobs and nursing schools. Fun times. While taking a break from applying, I worked on a few blog things. I am slowing fixing broken links around here and have a running list of blog posts that have missing photos or dead links. A few that I fixed,
If you dig around here, chances are you will find a broken link. When I first started blogging I apparently wasn’t posting my photos correctly so they were only temporary. It’s rather embarrassing but hey you live you learn.
Hubs had class and I went to get my hair cut! Ladies! Listen to me now. Go see my girl Melanie at Solution for Hair and Makeup on Westheimer. She used to work at my old salon in my area but decided to abandon me move to a salon with better opportunities for creativity and learning. I made the mistake of not following her. I was never happy with my hair unless Melanie did it so now I make the drive. And small world, my blog friend Ellie over at Uptown with Elly Brown also sees her. Stunning that girl and she’s the sweetest thing! My hair looks way darker now because Melanie cut out the rest of my ombre from a few years ago. It didn’t take long for the Houston humidity to kill my vibe. I’ve been wanting a selfie stick for ages now mostly because they are illegal in South Korea…and I would feel like a total badass owning one of these. I searched everywhere on Saturday and nowhere had them. I was informed that as soon as they come in, they quickly sell out. After five stores (multiple Targets included), I settled for one at Best Buy. I was sort of pissed that it was $20 and found it WAY cheaper on Amazon. Another vibe kill. Selfie Stick on Amazon
Hubs is thrilled about the idea of the selfie stick and jumps in as many photos as possible especially in public. When the neighbors are in the front yard. As you can see I also bought some new succulents that I still need to plant. I was going to plant them in the backyard but aloe is toxic to dogs. Great. Planned ruined. Okay. Back to selfie stick.
Saturday night we went to a boxing match. My trainer was coaching a guy and he won! It’s pretty interesting to watch but I can’t even think that my husband used to box. I would cut a bitch if I saw someone mess up his pretty face.
I slept in until 9am and Hubs woke me with Starbucks and a breakfast taco. That man knows the way to my heart. I worked on the blog a bit more with broken links and started to get cabin fever. I decided to take the poodles to the new dog park in Houston. I met Carolyn and her baby Schnapps there and they played together well. SO CUTE that little Schnapps.
They’ve been sleeping ever since.
Kate and Toby are shedding like crazy right now so. FUR. EVERYWHERE. They’re lucky I like them. I purchased this amazing lint roller a while back and it’s been a lifesaver especially on the furniture that “no dogs allowed” clearly doesn’t apply.
I was cleaning upstairs in one of the guest bathrooms and noticed a few silverfish bugs. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE creatures really. See our house is almost twenty years old and Houston is HUMID. They love warm, moist places and cardboard….which is why we store our attic and garage stuff in plastic bins. Anywho, we have the bug people come out every few months for preventative measures and they leave me with Silver Fish Packs. You guys. No joke they work. I keep them in our master bath and I went from seeing 5-6 a week to zero–Which is great because I was having to clean the bathtub multiple times a week. So I took two packs upstairs and that should do the trick. Oh the joys of older home ownership. Now I’m sitting here with a cup of bedtime tea relaxing.
What did you do this weekend?
