Our anniversary was perfect. We opened gifts, went to dinner and enjoyed the presence of each other. Not to mention, the weather was PERFECT too!! Hurry up Fall!!
And because you are all so nosey 😉 here is how the gift exchange went…. I never took any photos of us opening the gifts because I was a hot mess and we were busy watching Andy Murray play Djokovic. You can relive the magic of that match here. AMAZING!
Onto gifts…
All wrapped and pretty. I’m obsessed with Scrabble pieces.
Hubs has been wanting something to put his milk in for his tea so I got him this. He thought it was going to be a meat tenderizer–he wants one of those too. Maybe for his Christmas.
I also gave him a wallet with $1 in it (paper and symbolic of our 1 year).
He already had a bible (the first Christmas gift I gave him) but it was a cheap study bible so I decided to get him a really nice one and have his name put on it. He liked it a lot.
Note: NEVER SEND A MALE FLOWERS TO HIS WORK FOR YOUR ANNIVERSARY!
However, you can send food. Men love food. And I can’t remember which movie taught me early on but THE way to a man’s heart is through his STOMACH! What movie is that?
I sent strawberries and a balloon. 🙂
I also made this little pretty. It was VERY easy to do and didn’t take much time. The hardest part was selecting the frame with a large enough matte for the letters.

DIY/CRAFTY CRAFTS section of this lovely blog (just in case you want to refer back to it).
Buy the frame (black vertical frame, black horizontal frame,

Each print is from google images. The hardest one to find was my home town…Dinwiddie, Virginia.
Some of the images were in color. Since our gallery wall is for black and white photos, I chose to change them in Picmonkey (a free online photo editing program). I also added the little heart and fleur de lis on picmonkey.com.
When you are finished with each print,
MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IT AT ITS HIGHEST POSSIBLE RESOLUTION SO IT’S NOT GRAINY.
I really like the quality of costco printing but anywhere is fine.

I got an awesome dry erase board made of wood (paper alternative), a water mug (perfect for my kidney issues), an origami set, and this beautiful clock from Pottery Barn! IN LOVE!
And last but not least, I got a laptop (to write papers). Y’all don’t even know how ghetto my old computer was/is. It was so stressful to blog. Blogging shouldn’t be stressful.
Here is our dinner photo.
Anniversary Tradition: Take a photo holding the photo from the year before…eventually it will be like our own little version of the Matryoshka doll (Russian nesting dolls….a doll within a doll within a doll)… you get it right?
