Hello lovely readers! Today I’m here to share a little bits of our master bedroom. It’s important to have a bedroom that is calming and relaxing. Light, not busy, and neutral is what you should strive for.
Because our furniture is quite dark, I chose a light wall color, light curtains, and light bedding. As soon as I find one that I like, our bedding will be replaced. This west elm bedding print is lovely but is way too busy for a master bedroom. The mirrored frames help reflect the light from the lamp and the natural light from the windows. Our bedside tables are clutter free. Clutter is not relaxing. My extra books that I’m currently reading go in the middle drawer and my nightly routine stuff (eye cream, lotion and lip balm) are in the smaller top drawer.
Here are a few inspiration images
This is our bed. Pure perfection. The headboard is a statement piece so we opted for no art above it. Instead we used the mirrored frames on the side.
Here is a photo that shows the details on the headboard.
I’m loving this throw. All Ralph Lauren emblems are perfect for us because they make our monogram. 🙂 I also love the neutral colors in this room and the fresh flowers. Due to our horrible allergies, we opted for faux flowers in our master bedroom.
Taking neutral curtains to the ceiling creates a bigger space and helps draw the eye up. We made a cornice board for our master window, which was installed on Christmas morning. You can read about HERE.
If you don’t want to read about it, here is a photo of how it looks now.
Tomorrow I’ll be back to teach you how to create a relaxing and calming space perfect for your bedroom. To see more of the inspiration for our master bedroom, check out my Master Pinterest board.
How would you describe your bedroom? Is it light and refreshing?
