Laundry Room Organization

First let me say that I am very grateful for everything that we have. With that said, if I could have a larger laundry room, that would be amazing. It’s just not functional. You may recall that Hubs built this lovely pedestal which provides storage and lift to  the washer and dryer. As much as I love it, it’s just not functional for our small space.
Yep, that’s me hiding behind the door. 🙂
It is currently for sale. Please contact me if you are interested and I will happily provide you with more information. We’ve decided to stack the washer and dryer and to add cabinets around them for my storage.
With that said, until the reno can happen, I will continue to keep things the way they are.
Here is how we currently organize this microscopic space.
The baskets underneath the unit hold our laundry detergent, bra baby (Husband manages to use this on the regular when he washes my clothes) #proudwife! I never taught him either.
We have this little gadget that stores things on the back of the door. You can buy one similar HERE.
The hooks beside the door hold our keys. This way we always know where they are.
Small laundry room storage ideas
Do you have a small laundry room? If not, I hate you! JK.
How do you organize your small spaces?
Happy Monday.

Interested to see how you change things up. We have a laundry closet in our rental – the door of which is narrower than the stacked washer/dryer. No seriously, when there was an issue with our dryer they had to take the door off to pull the machines out. So there's no storage or organization happening in there. Our soap is balanced on the lip of the washer & everything else has to go in the linen closet down the hall. So jealous of people with large laundry rooms!

After a few years of no laundry in my home, just having our own washer and dryer is exciting. I admit that even though our laundry area creeps me out and it's the one place in the basement our landlords didn't make nice, I take a little icky over small. However, it is icky enough that I don't fold or hang laundry in there. I hope stacking gives you much needed space!

I would say I would take the pedestal but I don't think it will work in our laundry room… there's a bunch of built-ins above it! Haha. I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

I think you're doing a great job with a small space. And I am obsessed with your rug — where did you get it?

My next big project that I working on is my laundry room. I will feature it on my blog improvementlist.blogspot.com once it is finished. Still trying to come up with storage ideas, and I really like the idea of a place to stash things that is under the washer/dryer. Great use of what would otherwise be "dead space". I look forward to seeing your reconfiguration of the space.
